One Smart Cookie K9 Services Inc. utilizes force-free, positive reinforcement (markers/rewards) to teach, motivate and address problem behaviors. Because this is a team effort between the dog and their human companion, to achieve lasting results we encourage relationship-building exercises. We also highly recommend including a fun physical component such as our FIT-Foundations (manners, tricks, canine fitness and intro to scent) and K9FITCLUB (canine-conditioning / human-canine fitness) classes as well as providing a variety of mental stimulation games and puzzles! Learning good manners; how to be calm and confident; combined with a variety of activities and mental stimulation makes for a very successful formula and can be fun for everyone in the household. Our ultimate goal is for our furry companions to be happy, healthy and well-adjusted to our lifestyles while creating a safe, peaceful and enriching home environment for all family members.    

 

We have a couple specialty programs like Agility Foundations and RallyFIT and we have teamed up with Lifeline Canada Foundation (Companion Paws Canada Therapy Dog Certification program). We provide temperament testing as well as final evaluations for them. We also offer a 6-week Therapy Dog Certification 'Prep' program that coincides with the final evaluation. 

Dogs must be a minimum of 1.5 yrs old to become certified.

*Please take note that Companion Paws therapy dogs are designated companion dogs and will not be certified as service dogs.

Therapy dogs are companion dogs trained to provide affection, comfort and company and are not afforded the same legal privileges as service dogs.
